Why choose a flight over a drive?

Your journey isn’t always about the destination you reach. The magic often lies in the spaces in between, as your experience in every small encounter shapes your overall trip. Likewise, in this Kathmandu Pokhara tour package by flight, an incredible domestic flight takes place between Kathmandu and Pokhara. While both a scenic flight and a road trip can be enchanting, flights are considered more comfortable with fewer challenges in comparison to driving. Hence, a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara is more convenient and time efficient accompanied by unparalleled views high up in the sky.

Imagine witnessing the majestic Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu peaks like never before from your airplane window. This aerial view is unmatched by any road journey. For the time conscious traveller, the choice is clear; transition effortlessly from Kathmandu’s cultural riches to Pokhara’s serene beauty. In just 30 minutes, you’re taken away to Pokhara, leaving precious hours to explore its serene lakeside charm, vibrant streets, or participate in thrilling adventures. You can forget the potential fatigue and lost time on the road, as you will arrive refreshed and prepare to conquer the day. Furthermore, choosing the flight option ensures not only time efficiency but also seamless integration into your itinerary, allowing you to explore without the constraints of long road journeys.

Beyond that, it doesn't forget about your comfort and safety. The modern aircraft prioritise your comfort and safety, guaranteeing a stress-free experience where you can simply relax and soak in the panoramic vistas. So why not trade the dusty roads for the open sky? This isn’t about reaching Pokhara faster; it's about embracing different kinds of magic. As a result, choosing to take a flight unlocks an adventure that transcends the destination, where the journey itself becomes an unforgettable memory.

What to expect from this tour?

Kathmandu, the capital, is the most popular and one of the most remarkable cities for pilgrimage and historical heritage sightseeing. Kathmandu carries a medieval history and associated artefacts that depict the lifestyle and cultural values that have been around for centuries. In this tour, you will explore temples like Pashupatinath Temple, stupas like Swayambhunath and Boudhanath, and one of the three major Durbar Squares, Patan Durbar Square. As a tourist, you will be amazed by the maze-like alleys of the old city, the temples around, and the ancient settings harmonising with the urban civilization and chaotic lifestyle that make the city lively and spirited.

Similarly, Pokhara, also known as the city of Lakes and city of Himalayas, is one of the most incredible places to be. As you transfer from Kathmandu to Pokhara, you can expect a comfortable 30 minutes scenic flight in between, which, of course, is a captivating part of your journey. Pokhara offers splendid Himalayan beauty and a unique taste of a natural blend in the modern vibrancy of major religiously significant sites. Amidst the natural beauty, you will visit culturally and naturally prominent sites such as Davis Falls, Bindhyabasini Temple, Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave, Taal Barahi Temple, and Phewa Lake. With the sightseeing, you can spend a pleasant time along the lakeside area, accompanied by the tranquil lake and dazzling lights. What’s more interesting are the restaurants and cafes featuring bustling local crowds and various street foods, and most importantly, you’ll be part of it. In addition to that, if you want to indulge yourself in some other adventure activities in Pokhara Valley as an optional choice, that would add an incredible essence to the trip. Firstly, you will start with Pashupatinath Temple, a sacred Hindu pilgrimage site. You will wander through the maze of the temple, surrounded by small shrines, each with its own religious significance. Then, stop by Boudhanath, one of the largest stupas in the world and the centre of Tibetan Buddhism, located just 2 km away from the Pashupatinath temple. As you witness the people circumambulating the stupa, you can feel its significance and serenity. There are various cosy cafes and restaurants around the area of Boudhanath that serve different continental cuisines. You can have your lunch there according to your timing.

Check in at the hotel before continuing further with your sightseeing. Later in the afternoon, your next exploration will be at Patan Durbar Square, one of the three Durbar squares, where you will travel through the historical lane. After that, you will visit Swayambhunath Stupa, famously known as the Monkey Temple, a religious site with Hindu and Buddhist harmony. You must climb certain steps to reach the top of the hill, where the stupa is located.

At 05:00 PM: Once you finish your sightseeing, you will be transferred to your hotel. Or you can also go to the nearest dining areas, such as Thamel or Durbar Marg, to enjoy a delicious dinner.

Pashupatinath Temple is the largest and holiest shrine for Hindus, dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple, situated on the bank of the Bagmati River, was built in the 5th century. It is represented by a four faced shiva-lingam housed in the main temple. There are around 492 temples, 15 Shivalayas (shrines of Lord Shiva), and 12 Jyotirlingas (phallic shrines) to explore. Although only Hindus are allowed to enter the temple, visitors can clearly see the temple and the activities performed on the temple premises from the eastern bank of the Bagmati river. A centre for Hindu pilgrimage, this temple hosts different major festivals such as Maha Shivaratri and pujas such as Rudra Abhishek and evening Aarti. Additionally, no entrance fee is charged for Indian nationals to enter the temple.

Boudhanath Stupa is one of the largest stupas in the world, attracting visitors for its religious and spiritual significance. Around the base of the stupa, you’ll find 108 small niches housing statues of the Dhyani Buddha Amitabha, representing the different stages of enlightenment. It is a sacred place for both Tibetan Buddhists and locals.

Patan Durbar Square, one of the three durbar squares in Kathmandu Valley, is 6 km southeast of Kathmandu. The square is an important example of Newari architecture, surrounded by prominent temples, palaces, courtyards, and statues. The Keshav Narayan Temple, which was built in the 17th century and dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu, is a masterpiece of pagoda architecture. The temple is known for its nine roofed pagodas and its richly decorated interior. Other notable key attractions on the square are the Krishna Temple, the Taleju Temple, the Bhimsen Temple, and the Patan Museum. Wandering through the narrow alleys lined with traditional Newari houses, bustling markets selling handicrafts and souvenirs, and local shops showcasing local artisans' work is an interesting sight to see.

Believed to be the oldest Buddhist shrine in Nepal, the history of the Swayambhunath Stupa dates back 2500 years. Also known as a monkey temple, it is a hilltop pilgrimage site surrounded by smaller temples, stupas, and monasteries. This site shows the perfect harmony of Hindu and Buddhist religions with the combination of Buddhist stupas and Hindu shrines.
