Muktinath Darshan

Muktinath Darshan, referring to pilgrimage to Muktinath Temple, is a sacred journey for Hindus and Buddhists in Nepal. Located high in the Mustang district at an altitude of 3,710 metres, the temple itself is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is one of the 108 Divya Desams, sacred pilgrimage sites for Vaishnavites. Commonly known as “Mukti Kshetra” or “Place of Salvation”, thousands of people visit this religious site every year in the belief of having their sins washed. Pilgrims climb the rugged terrain and high altitudes to receive blessings from the eternal flames at Jwala Mai Temple and the icy waters from the 108 taps (Mukti Dhara) and 2 ponds (Mukti Kunda and Saraswati Kunda) that symbolise purity and renewal. The culmination is the darshan, the reverent viewing of the temple itself, a pagoda-style structure adorned with 108 waterspouts, a number significant in both Hinduism and Buddhism.

Moreover, the journey to Muktinath is considered a path to spiritual liberation, with pilgrims undertaking scenic treks or rides through the Himalayas to reach the temple and experience its holy atmosphere. Beyond its religious significance, the journey itself is an adventure, with routes leading through Himalayan landscapes, past villages, and dramatic gorges. Its very presence and religious value make Muktinath Temple captivate visitors with its breathtaking mountain vistas, offering a spiritual journey amidst the majestic Himalayas.

Pokhara Sightseeing

Pokhara, in the lap of the Himalayas, offers a variety of explorations for every type of traveller, ranging from cultural to adventure to natural and religious travel. For this tour, you will focus more on visiting religious sites. Here, you will set out on a sightseeing escapade filled with wonders. As you venture towards the city, you are greeted by the majestic peaks of the Annapurna range reflecting upon the pristine waters of Phewa Lake. Witness the power of Davis Falls, delve into the mystical depths of Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave, feel the spiritual aura of Bindhyabasini Temple, and find serenity at the tranquil Taal Barahi Temple on its island sanctuary.

Pokhara's heart lies at Phewa Lake. Glide across its placid surface on a boat, or simply soak in the serenity of the lakeside. By the lakeside, Pokhara unfolds in a symphony of contrasts. Bustling restaurants and cafes hum with activity, their vibrant energy somehow coexisting with a sense of tranquillity. Local markets overflow with an endless array of goods, a kaleidoscope of traditional handicrafts and exotic finds. Provided that, Pokhara is not merely a sightseeing city but a serene city transcending faith, culture, and the timeless allure of nature.

Kathmandu Exploration

The vibrant chaos of Kathmandu unfolds as you weave through bustling streets, the air thick with incense, and the melodic calls of street vendors. While you roam through the local alleys and corners, the city reveals its secrets one by one. As scheduled in your itinerary, you’ll visit some significant temples and Durbar Squares. Patan Durbar Square explodes with intricate carvings on the royal palace, each detail whispering stories of a bygone era. Similarly, the grandeur of Kathmandu Durbar Square washes over you, a sensory overload of towering temples and bustling courtyards. Finding serenity, you reach Jal Narayan Temple, a sacred hush surrounding the reclining Vishnu bathed in holy water. Most importantly, Pashupatinath, a Hindu temple, hits you with a wave of raw emotion. The sacred evening arati on the banks of the Bagmati is where devotees gather to pay homage to Lord Shiva, the presiding deity of the temple complex.

Apart from the sightseeing, you can also explore the local markets around the city, such as Thamel. The minute you step into Thamel, Kathmandu's vibrant shopping scene explodes around you. Narrow streets, a kaleidoscope of colours, transform into a treasure hunt. Shopkeepers smile and beckon you in, their displays overflowing with hand-woven pashminas, gleaming khukuris (Nepalese Gurkha knives), premium jewelleries, and many more. With that being so, Kathmandu is a sensory overload, a beautiful tapestry woven with history, religion, and the unyielding spirit of its people.

Davis Falls, also known as Patale Chhango, is an amazing waterfall in Pokhara Valley that is nearly 500 feet long and runs 100 feet below ground level. According to local old people, on July 31, 1961, a Swiss couple named Davi went swimming, but the woman drowned in a pit. From that day on, the place was known as Davis Falls.
